“The entire show was entirely based on their personal experiences. I am not kidding.”

~ Michael Dante DiMartino on the airbenders
The planet where the band plays.

Earth, Wind, and Fire are a group of benders, who in 1969, were accidentally transported to Earth due to one of them, an inexperienced Airbender, using his powers. Realizing that they couldn't go back, they formed this band as a reference to anyone who was also a bender to take them back. As of 2024, they are still stuck on Earth.

History[edit | edit source]

In 1971, the ragtag group, who had been subsisting on watermelons, were contacted by Warner Bros., who said that they needed black people for some movies. They agreed to be part of Warner Bros., and by 1972, had made their album without Warner even knowing. Despite that, it managed to be successful, causing Warner Bros. to promote them from "unpaid intern" to "afro-wearing interns".

After releasing a few more albums, they released their most successful single, September, which is about the band reminiscing about their past life on September 11. However, on September 10, 2001, Osama bin Laden notified the band that they would need to change the lyrics to be about September 21 since he and his Jenga company were going to do an advertising stunt the next day.

Otherwise, they're a successful band, and on 2004, collaborated with Nickelodeon to produce a multi-season autobiobiography. They have attributed drugs and disco jeans to their historic amounts of success.

Controversy[edit | edit source]

These guys really don't like being excluded.

Earth, Wind & Fire has gotten into major controversy with waterbenders for not including them in the band. The waterbenders claim that they, too, are benders, and should play a role in the band. The other benders, however, state that water would ruin the electronics that make the band what it is. Several riots have occurred around the planet since the first one in 1996, which have caused the band to be constantly guarded every time they just want to . Luckily the last of these riots took place in 2018, and since then, the angry mob have appeared to finally stop caring about it and are currently not giving a fuck.
